Louis Poulsen & Co. A/S is a global developer of lighting used by the world's best architects and designers. Headquarters are in Denmark with the U.S. subsidiary in Florida. They needed an ERP solution for U.S. operations that could accommodate growth and support their shift to Microsoft NT. Headquarters were using SAP, but they chose Microsoft Dynamics AX for the USA. Columbus worked with the U.S. subsidiary to update and consolidate their business, allowing for consistent reporting to the parent company. Louis Poulsen also experienced substantial improvements in inventory management and productivity. They reduced their item numbers from 9,000 to 4,000, track orders in real time, and deliver faster.

The success of power tool company Makita in Russia has transformed their representative office, established in 1997, into a full affiliated company in 2003. This organizational change and the subsequent growth in staff necessitated an upgrade of their ERP-system. Once again Makita turned to Columbus IT Partner for assistance. Axapta has become an indispensable tool for the steel company Scan Press A/S. Scan Press started to use Axapta on 1 May 2003 after almost 20 years with an MRP system, which had become obsolete. The choice fell on Axapta because it was the one most suited to the company's size and was widely used. “We are happy for the operating agreement, and things work perfectly. The company is a breakaway from the Severstal conglomerate and due to this major organizational change they needed a modern IT-system of their own. Columbus IT Partner was chosen to implement a Microsoft Business Solutions Axapta system. The Axapta solution is designed to handle the special requirements of large-scale custom orders, specifically the ability to calculate the primary cost of production. The company spent three months evaluating various IT-systems and implementation partners. Finally the top management decided that Columbus IT Partner and Microsoft Business Solutions was the best combination.
